A prayer for the economy and for those who are suffering

Are you hurting, lonely, lost a loved one or suffering with an illness, lost your job or facing other difficulties in your life and you can’t seem to find a way out? Remember, you’re not alone. There are millions of others like you and myself who are in the same boat. Suffering and sorrow are a part of life. We cannot live a perfect life in an imperfect world. Knowing this, however, doesn't make it any easier to cope when you find yourself in the midst of the deepest, darkest trials of faith.

Sometimes when our suffering seems more than we can bear, we wonder why is God allowing this to happen to us, but suffering sometimes helps to shape our character and strengthen us.

Who knows more about suffering than Jesus. He knows more about being hurt and humiliated. He remembers the terrible moment on the cross when his Father was forced to abandon him, because he was terribly stained with our sins.

Romans 3:23: For ALL HAVE SINNED and come short of the glory of God.

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

When you're angry and bitter you can still trust in Jesus in the midst of your tears. You can hold onto him and refuse to let go until he brings you through it. You'll find, to your surprise, that he holds on to you even tighter than you hold on to him.

It takes real spiritual maturity to stay faithful when things go wrong, but severing our relationship with God punishes us, not him.

Php. 4:6 - Show Context
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Luke 12:7:
7But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Prayer:

Father God, in the blessed name of your son, Jesus, I ask that you to bless those reading this post at this very minute. I also ask that you provide a job for those who are unemployed and experiencing financial hardships in their lives. You’ve promised to provide for us our every need. I ask that you comfort those who are lonely and discouraged. Heal those who are sick and strengthen their bodies. You’ve created us and you know what our needs are. You know us better than we know ourselves. I pray that you fill our hearts with your peace and love. Let there be peace also in this troubled world. Help us to be more sensitive to the needs of those who are impoverished. I ask you father to strengthen the world economy and direct our governments and leaders. This I ask in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.

Proverbs 29:2 (Whole Chapter) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

2Ch 7:14 - Show Context - If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
