In Hours Of Discouragement God Is Our Encouragement

I came across this beautiful poem that will bring comfort to a sad and lonely heart:

Sometimes we feel uncertain, and unsure of everything,
Afraid to make decisions, dreading what the day will bring.
We keep wishing it were possible to dispel all fear and doubt,
and to understand more readily just what life is all about.
God has given us the answers, which too often go unheeded,
But if we search His promises, we'll find everything that's needed.
To lift our faltering spirits and renew our courage, too.
For there's absolutely nothing too much for God to do.
For the Lord is our salvation, and our strength in every fight.
Our redeemer and protector, our eternal guiding light.
He has promised to sustain us, he's our refuge from all harms.
And underneath this refuge, are the everlasting arms.
So cast your burden on Him, Seek His counsel when distressed.
And go to Him for comfort, when you're lonely and oppressed.
For God is our encouragement in trouble and in trials.
And in suffering and in sorrow, he will turn our tears to smiles.

At the Appointed Time

When we pray to God for something and we do not receive it within a certain time, we begin to lose faith and wonder if God really hears us. Sometimes we wonder if there's something in our lives that's preventing God from hearing our prayers. He does not always answer our prayers immediately, unless we're in immediate danger, nor does he answer our prayers on our terms.

Below are the words in an email I received today from a brother in Christ. Just thought I'd share it with you.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE - At the Appointed Time "For the vision is yet for an appointed time…it will surely come; it will not be behind hand on its appointed day"(Habakkuk 2:3, AMP).

God is looking for people who have a made-up mind; people who will trust His timing. You may not see His promises happen overnight, but they will happen.

In the Bible, Abraham waited 20 years to have a son and see his promise come to pass. Moses waited 40 years to fulfill his purpose and lead the children of Israel out of captivity.

You might say, “I’ve been waiting for a year, and I don’t see anything happening.” No, something is happening. Right now, God is working behind the scenes in your life. He is arranging the right people, the right breaks and the right opportunities.

Today’s scripture tells us that at the appointed time, the promise will come to pass, and it will not be one second late! When is the appointed time? It’s when God knows the timing is best for you. When you understand and accept this principle, it takes all the pressure off you. It’s very comforting to live knowing that as long as we stay in faith, God will release His favor, His increase, His restoration, and His healing at exactly the right time in our lives!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY. Father in heaven, thank You for working behind the scenes in my life. I trust that the appointed time for me is on its way. I am content in You, knowing that You have a good plan for my future. I bless you today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
